D'Angelo Russell made his long-awaited pro debut on Friday night, starting for the Los Angeles Lakers in a NBA Summer League game. In his first game, he showed some of the skills NBA diehards were looking for.

In an 81-68 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves' summer league team, Russell contributed eight points, five rebounds, six assists and and three steals in 26 minutes. It wasn't all positive, as Russell had five turnovers as well.

Russell spoke to reporters after the game, who wanted to get his thoughts on his overall performance:

It was a strong debut for The Player Formerly Wearing Number Zero; as long as he cuts down on turnovers, he'll be on the way to impacting real, meaningful games.
