Why You Should Like the Browns "Perfect Season" Parade

The Browns futility has been impossible to not notice. 1-31 over the last two seasons. At some point during the 2016-2017, noted Twitterer Chris McNeill (@Reflog_18) spawned the idea of holding a parade to celebrate a perfect 0-16 season. He launched a gofundme to raise money, with the contingency that if the Browns win, the money goes to the Cleveland Foodbank.

The Browns won their 15th game of the season vs. the Chargers, and the foodbank got paid.

Fast forward one season. A new gofundme is launched for the same purpose with the same contingency.

The total raised as I write this is $13,306, and rising. Excedrine has become the sponsor by donating roughly half that total. McNeil has stated that another $8,000+ has been raised for the Cleveland Foodbank, and they'll also receive what's left over from the Gofundme after parade expenses. This is in addition to the food collection that's going to take place at the parade.

What has he received for his efforts? Lots and lots of twitter hate. Before the Browns beat the Chargers in 2016, Cleveland radio personality, and wife beater, Tony Rizzo wanted to fight McNeil on the air and also threatened to show up at the parade and run people over with his car. Also, from the unwashed masses:

So, why is he going forward with this? He's stated from the beginning that the goal is to give the fans "something to celebrate" and to stick it to the Browns front office and more importantly, the ownership. I think all Browns fans can agree that the Haslam regime (aside from Jimmy being a professional swindler) has left a lot to be desired, and even found a way to make the Browns even more LOL-worthy than they were under Randy Lerner.

But, why go to all the trouble? Do the Haslams even care? They've been silent on it until recently, when Jimmy's son-in-law tweeted this:

Why should we care what the Haslam family thinks about it? Aren't they really the ones to blame for this thing?

Also, noted hack actor and dipshit Michael Rapaport (whom McNeil has feuded with on Twitter in the past) was featured in a rant posted on Barstool about the parade. Rapaport has not been shy about shitting on Cleveland in the past. Rapaport's rant was retweeted by Haslam's son-in-law.

So, if something embarrasses Jimmy Haslam and raises a bunch of money for the Cleveland Foodbank, why shouldn't we support it?
