Many folks do not care about wrestling. Many people think it's dumb, fake, childish, and boring. I was a huge fan when I was younger, but then realized in my mid-teens that I'd rather chase tail and play video games than watch. I was out of touch for 15 years, completely missed the majority of "The Attitude Era" and missed some memorable moments. As I've gotten older and have two young boys who love watching people hit each other in other sports, the call to wrestling has beckoned and I've answered the call by watching every week and PPV since the end of April 2015. The first Raw I watched was the episode where Daniel Bryan laid down the IC title in the middle of the ring and walked out after an impassioned speech telling folks he couldn't fight and the fans deserved a fighting champion.
I missed his build-up, his matches, his moments, and only have gotten to watch PPV replays. I've seen few wrestlers who had the entire audience back him as he has been backed.
As I watched Raw last night, and saw little kids and their parents crying in the stands, it saddens me that the last true face of WWE is retiring because "fake fighting" actually isn't fake, and has dire consequences.
