Henry committed to Ohio State in July 2023 and shut down his recruitment in April 2025. However, in the aftermath of Brian Hartline's decision to become USF's next head coach, Henry has not yet signed with the Buckeyes. Oregon has made the strongest push to flip Henry, though LSU, Texas and USC are also in the mix.
On3's Steve Wiltfong reported Friday that there is "growing doubt around Oregon" that the Ducks will sign Henry. Meanwhile, "confidence is growing around the Buckeyes" that Henry will stick with his original commitment to Ohio State.
“As Pete Nakos and I have been reporting, there is consistent dialogue with multiple schools involved with Chris Henry. But there is growing doubt around Oregon that they will ultimately be able to get him in the fold, while confidence is growing around the Buckeyes that they will be able to sign him,” Wiltfong said. “The situation has been very fluid the past few days, and will continue to be one to watch until he announces.”
