Ted Ginn Jr. will have a couple of Buckeyes on his coaching staff this spring.
The Columbus Aviators opened their 2026 training camp on Monday and announced the completion of Ginn’s first coaching staff. It includes two former Buckeyes: Larry Grant, who will coach special teams and linebackers, and Curtis Terry Sr., who will coach the defensive line.
The 2005 JUCO National Player of the Year, Grant transferred to Ohio State for his junior and senior seasons. In 25 games with the Buckeyes, the 6-foot-1, 251-pound linebacker made 14 starts and recorded 69 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three pass breakups, two interceptions and one forced fumble.
Grant played in the NFL from 2008–14, spending six seasons with the St. Louis Rams (2008–10), the San Francisco 49ers (2011–12) and the Chicago Bears (2013). He also served as a defensive analyst at UNLV in 2021.
Terry spent five seasons at Ohio State from 2005–09, recording 14 tackles and one forced fumble. He has since coached the defensive line at Bluefield State, Central State, Florida Memorial and Eastern Michigan.
Columbus will have two Buckeyes on its roster in 2026: former offensive lineman Matthew Jones and former tight end Gee Scott Jr. The Aviators selected both players in the UFL draft back on Jan. 14.
