While all eyes are on the College Football Playoff Committee and their final rankings to determine seeding for this year's 12-team playoff, the AP and Coaches Poll dropped on Sunday morning.
Ohio State sat at No. 6 in the AP Poll, slotting in between No. 5 Penn State and No. 7 Tennessee. Regarding the Alabama-SMU bubble debate, the AP Poll ruled in favor of the Crimson Tide by ranking them No. 11 and the Mustangs 12th.
The Buckeyes fell behind Tennessee in the Coaches Poll, sitting at No. 7 overall. The Coaches Poll also leaned toward the Crimson Tide at No. 11, while SMU slotted in at No. 12.
Both polls had the same top five of No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 4 Texas and No. 5 Penn State.
