Can Ryan Day and Ohio State Recover from This?

I know most of you guys will probably immediately respond with: "No, Fire Day"- probably without even reading this. But I like to be an optimist. The team I saw today was completely unrecognizable from the team I saw the first 11 games of the season. The team I saw all season up until today (minus the Nebraska game) looked undoubtedly like a National Championship contender. I'm stunned. I've been an Ohio State fan for the past 13 years, so I didn't experience the scar tissue from the Cooper years like many of you did. However, I did witness the 2022 team put up one heck of a fight against Georgia after losing to TTUN at home. I thought this program and Ryan Day were on a sinking ship after that TTUN game, and I believe the Georgia game reignited assurance in the fans. Obviously, this TTUN team is significantly worse than that team, but is it possible this team can recover from this and go on a run in the CFP? I'm not sure what happened in 2022 that caused such a spark in that team against Georgia, but can it be reignited again. And if they do play well in the CFP, do you guys still want Day fired?

My take:

Football is a game of luck to a certain extent. I'm not defending the loss today- it was a TERRIBLE performance with TERRIBLE play calling and terrible QB play (I'm wondering if Howard's injury hampered his play). But... if Fielding makes those two field goals and Ohio State gets one more fourth down stop late in the game, we are celebrating a TTUN victory- still with several concerns heading into the Oregon game. I understand everyone is emotional, but it's amazing how much of an impact 2 kicks of the football can have. Saban would've lost to a terrible Auburn team last year if not for a prayer. If TTUN would've converted that 2 point attempt in 2013 and won, I'm sure a bunch of people on here would've been calling for Meyer's head at the time.  Today was terrible, but I'm not throwing in the towel YET.
