Kris Kristofferson died yesterday at the age of 88 at his home in Maui. He was an American songwriting icon, with songs like, "Me and Bobby McGee, Help me Make it Through the Night, and Sunday Morning Comin' Down. He was also an accomplished actor with numerous film roles to his credit. He truly led quite an interesting life; being a Rhodes scholar at Oxford, an Army Ranger, a forest fire fighter, a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, and he even turned down an appointment to teach English at West Point.
