Former Ohio State safety Tanner McCalister is playing in the Hula Bowl along with other 2023 NFL draft prospects this afternoon, and he made a nice pass breakup on a deep ball late in the first quarter:

As our Josh Poloha illustrated, McCalister’s Hula Bowl pass breakup was a similar play to the touchdown-saving PBU he made against Wisconsin this past season:

McCalister is the lone Buckeye playing in today’s Hula Bowl, which is currently airing on CBS Sports Network. Former Ohio State defensive tackle Jerron Cage is also on Team Kai alongside McCalister, but was shown without a helmet on the sideline and will not actually be playing in today’s game, according to CBS color commentator Brian Baldinger.
