In both 2018 and 2022 we had the potential to see arguably two of the best players at their position play with each other with Bosa/Young combo and the JSN/Jr combo. However, history had other plans and injuries happened, yet one of the tandems still went on to become a dominant force and one of the best players at their position despite losing their counterpart.

If you could go back in time, wave a magic wand, and prevent one injury from happening keeping the player healthy all year, would you go back and change the 2018 Nick Bosa injury, or the 2022 JSN injury?

In 2018 Bosa was coming off a stellar sophomore year, earning 2017 first team all big 10 honors, recording 32 total tackles (14.5 for a loss) and a team leading seven sacks. Additionally, he had two pass breakups, eight quarterback hurries and a blocked kick.

Then in the 3rd game of the year vs TCU he suffered a core muscle injury and never suited up for the S&G again, infamously leaving the team mid season to prepare for the draft. Chase Young went on to record 10.5 sacks for the year and earned 2nd team all big 10 honors and followed that with a record setting 2019 year setting single game and season sacks records for Ohio state history.

In 2019 JSN was the leading WR despite playing with two future first round draft picks in Olave and Wilson. He was highly regarded as the best WR on the team. He set single game receptions record and season yards record for Ohio state history. He also set single game and FBS Bowl record for receiving yards with 347 in the 2022 Rose Bowl. He was plagued by a hamstring injury and never was able to be 100% all year in 2022 missing most games entirely.

Harrison Jr went on to emerge as the best WR in the country, currently sitting in 8th overall in receiving yards and 4th overall in TDs.

Injuries are part of the game, but man it woild have been amazing to see both of those duos play together for a full year. Which tandem would you have liked to see more?
