Like a lot of you, I have been having a hard time trying to process what happened on Saturday. Listening to the above-linked episode of Tuesday’s Buckeye Talk was really helpful. This is the day of the week where Doug Lesmerises tackles “rants” of Buckeye fans, so it’s reflective of what a lot of folks on here have been writing about and feeling. 
 

On top of a lot of insightful things, he touched on how the Buckeye’s performance WAS unacceptable and everyone understands frustration of fans, but it’s possible that the fanbase could be so down on the team and the players and grind that so hard that it will actually begin to negatively impact recruits wanting to come here. 
 

He also put the state of the program into the perspective of a fanbase that had become accustomed to two decades of B1G dominance. He described how in his time covering the Buckeyes (since 2005), there wasn’t one head coach that folks DIDN’T want canned at some point. He went into all that Ryan Day has on his plate as a head coach and how he believes the conversation of giving the reigns to an OC should at least be considered. He talks about how he got to sit in on Ryan Day’s offensive strategy session and how that works- that Day really is steering the offense.

For those of you familiar with Doug, you know he’s got a big personality but you can tell how much he cares about this fan base. I believe this one was for us.
