Continuing the theme of beating a dead horse in analyzing our run game, I really like this video analysis from Landis. He knows Oline play and as a graduate of PSU who covers OSU, I've often found his analysis/writing to be very honest and not homer-ish.  He looks at 6-7 run plays to see what wasn't working, what did, and what OSU was trying to do.

SUMMARY POINTS:

(1) Execution was the biggest culprit for our problems. Frustratingly, it was usually someone different on every play made some kind of mistake (rather than one guy getting abused). That being said, he and Austin noted that Day's responses indicated that Trey struggled (at least before later in the game). Trey does seem to have some issues picking a hole or staying balanced (which is probably why Miyan seems to be the better runner this year). Bill has said elsewhere that Miyan's vision/balance are more suited for stretch/outside zone game we like and Trey seems to do better on inside zone/gap scheme because he just needs A HOLE to hit and go. We saw that in this game.

(2) We are a little bit too predictable, esp. in this game, compared to what we've done at other times this season. We didn't use the play action game off of pistol/under center much at all. The problems we had this week were less about predictability than execution.

(3) The rewatch made Landis more confident than the live view of the game did, however, we have to clean things up and vary some play calling more for a team like TTUN. We have some issues but they are correctable.
