For as odd as this season has felt at times - unfortunate injuries, up and down games from a team that hasn’t quite played a complete game yet - it’s understandable that you blame the most visible player of the program - the QB. For all the frustration fans have had, CJ has been the one steadying force and has played his ass off govern the circumstances

• Lose two of three top WRs and NFL TE
• Lose #1 receiver and possibly best player in the country an injury during the first quarter of the first game of the season
• For as good as the WRs and TEs have been, coming into the season (excl. JSN) the top 4 pass catchers had a combined 37 catches and 4 TDs last year

Still, he leads the country (!) in passing TDs and QBR. Still, we’ve been efficient on offense and have two WRs that have produced at least first team all B1G performances. Not to mention a TE resurrecting this position as a pass catching weapon.

I know it’s hard when he doesn’t play perfectly given his talent, still, he’s shown leadership qualities and skill deserving of more credit. Ryan Day has not once mentioned CJ as needing to run the ball more, which leads me to believe that’s more of a coach’s decision than CJ’s own. If he goes down, our prospects for the year become much more challenging. Celebrate the greats while they’re still wearing the Scarlet and Grey!
