For the first time this year, the Buckeyes are #1 in the College Football Ranking Composite. Of the 64 computer polls in the Composite, the Bucks are #1 in 30 of them, with Georgia coming #1 in 21 of them, not including the two human polls listed. If the Playoffs were held today, the Semis would be OSU vs Bama and Tennessee vs Georgia, with the Wolverines at home watching on TV, probably owing to a weak non-conference schedule. Unlike most people, I favor an all-computer determination of post-season ranking using many polls since it is a far less-biased system that can quickly take ALL games and statistics into account. The biases that do occur with computer polls are minimized by averaging the results of many computer algorithms together, whereas biases will always be inherent when a small committee of human opinions are involved. Ohio High School football playoff seeds are determined with OHSAA computers, and it leads to far less belly-aching than would otherwise occur with a committee.
