The game is as close to a guarantee as can be. The final outcome will be the biggest B1G conference game upset in history if the home team prevails.
- Northwestern has given up 350+ yards to every team since Miami (OH) in game 3 (with their backup QB).
- Northwestern allowed Iowa's offense to appear serviceable.
- Ya know, the team that threw a TD pass to Eichenberg who was unencumbered by any pesky nearby WR's.
- Northwestern lost to 0-2 FCS Southern Illinois.
- I could go on. It's bad, it's really bad.
The starting ticket prices on ESPN's scoreboard were interesting. Most games appear to be duds as 5 of 7 have double digit spreads. Five of the favorites are on the road; creating a bleaker week than usual for ticket sales. The Single digit spreads do not include division leaders or playoff hopefuls or enchanted fans.
Yet, the only thing I can make of this is, OSU fans are traveling in droves via a 6-hour road trip to an undersized stadium. I can't think of any reason Northwestern fans (currently going extinct in the wild) would shell out $100 for a couple tickets.
Underdog | Favorite | Spread | Ticket "as low as" |
---|---|---|---|
@ NWU | OSU | 38 | $42 |
Iowa | @ Purdue | 4.5 | $37 |
@ Rutgers | Michigan | 25.5 | $35 |
MSU | @ Illinois | 16.5 | $33 |
@ Nebraska | Minnesota | 15 | $29 |
@ Indiana | PSU | 14 | $24 |
@ Wisconsin | Maryland | 5.5 | $22 |
Also, Illinois is surging. Why the cheap price?
