After his performance against PSU, my immediate thought was, "Marv has to be a Biletnikoff finalist, if not front runner right now, right?" After giving it some more thought I started to take it a step further and looked at the current Heisman front runners, and I honestly can't convince myself that Marvin isn't one of the top 5 overall college football players in the nation.
Blake Corum, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Chase Brown are the only non-QB's i've seen get any sort of consideration by the major outlets. All three are having very good if not great seasons, but if as this season continues to develop, we're all watching Marvin do some things that quite simply seem nearly impossible.
I know the Heisman has essentially turned into a QB award, but in the purest sense of the award going to the best college football player, I'm not sure Marvin Harrison Jr. doesn't belong in the same tier as Stroud, Hooker, and etc. Assuming he continues to put up these ridiculous numbers and make highlight reel catches, especially if goes off against TTUN at the end of the season, should Marv get an invite NYC? I really thought about this for a while and am interested to hear other people's thoughts on this. At the very least it's an entertaining thought exercise.
