Care: lack of quality offenses on OSU's schedule

Once again, the defense reigned Supreme throughout this game. Rutgers really didn't do anything and this was a 49-3 game without the Egbuka fumble. If anything, it stands to reason the game would have been 56-3 because we most likely score on the drive we never had because of the fumble. But man, we have yet to play an offense that has any sort of talent. Right now the best offense we've played is Toledo and, while our defense played well that game too minus a few big plays from Finn, that's not a great barometer for our defense as a whole. Our defensive stats are eye-popping and they are doing what they should against this level of opponent, but we really don't know anything yet because the teams we have played are truly bad.

Don't Care: lack of passing game

Stroud was never in a rhythm all game and made some poor decisions. That's his second subpar game in a row, against a subpar opponent. However, we rode the hot hand this game in Miyan Williams and that perfectly acceptable. Stroud and the receivers will get their's when necessary but in a game like this it's fun to watch the big guys and Williams dominate. Stroud needs stakes, he needs a stage. He hasn't had that the last two weeks and he's not dialed in. Day will get that fixed just fine.

Care: Miyan Williams is our RB1

Henderson is an all-world physical talent at RB but anyone arguing he's our best running back right now is using his big plays from last year as evidence and that's it. Williams could be an all-American this year if we wanted him to be. He runs like a combination of Hyde, Marshawn Lynch, and Beanie. He won't have many opportunities for 70 yard TDs but he clearly has the speed to make long splash plays. But his specialty is punishment. The defense will hate him all game. He should be our starter from here on out and receive the majority of carries in our 60-40 split committee, if not more.

Don't care: the seemingly endless injuries to starters

To be clear, I don't what injuries on our team ever. In the case of players like Henderson, Hall, etc I think their injuries are insignificant in the whole scheme of things and Ryan Day is making tough decisions to prepare for the rest of the year. I bet Henderson could have played, Hall could have come back in, JSN even could play (if absolutely necessary), etc. What is happening here is Day is keeping our team as healthy as possible through an abundance of caution and it will benefit us in the latter half of the season.

Care: Ohio State is the deepest team in the country.

Look at Bama and UGA who are really the only true contenders for the Natty right now, in my opinion, outside of OSU. Bama is not a great team outside of Bryce Young and some of their defense. If Young goes down, that team becomes a shell of itself. They were able to run on Arkansas but a better team shuts that down. UGA looked lost all night and should have lost that game. I spotted at least one PI that was never called that should have been and would have significantly helped Mizzou score a TD instead of kicking yet another FG. Mizzou had UGA's number all night. UGA has an offense that Knowles would go to town on. Shut down Bowers and they have nobody on the outside. Ohio State has depth concerns at corner, especially with Burke transforming into a liability, but the rest of the team is stacked and even missing multiple starters every game has yet to slow us down. This matters and bodes well for us.

Don't care: for much of the Big Ten.

The conference is very weak this year. The West may as well not exist and no team with hype or potential wants to step up outside of UM and OSU. Penn State managed to win yesterday while trying to literally give NU the ball as often as they could so maybe they are pretty good. Maybe Minny is actually good but relies entirely on Ibrahim. Who knows. The Big Ten as a conference this year is not good. It's the SEC and then everybody else. Not a fan of how our conference presents itself this year and our SOS isn't going to be great by the end of the year.
