Heading into the B1G schedule, it’s time to reassess the Bucks and their B1G opponents.

The Buckeyes: This team improves every week. Knowles’ D is performing well. Facing a mobile QB like the Rockets’ Dequan Finn was an important test. The O-line is keeping Stroud clean and opening holes, for an effective running game which includes power and speed. Ball distribution to the receivers has been exceptional, with Stover emerging as a secret weapon (a set-up man) at tight end. Egbuka’s Q1 TD and Stroud’s run against the Rockets were nice tricks, which will make future opposing defenses do some extra work. The Bucks should be inspired that they were flagged only once (for five yards) against a likely 10-win team and probable MAC champion, Toledo Rockets, in a game which was a fantastic wrap-up of the non-conference schedule.

B1G opponents: I’ll remark on only three: Penn State, Maryland and Rutgers. These teams will be tougher outs than I expected, heading into the 2022 season. Penn State may be the toughest. But Rutgers and Maryland, particularly, will give the Buckeyes some trouble, IMO.
