So out of a wanting to compare how our defense has done over the first 2 games of the season compared to say Georgia, Alabama, and even TTUN I went and looked up the numbers.

3rd down conversion percentage: Ohio St is allowing 24% good for 20th, Alabama is 20% good for 10th, TTUN 30% Tied at 44th, Georgia 29% tied for 35th

Passing yards allowed: Ohio St 52nd giving up on average 200 YPG, TTUN tied for 8th, Alabama 32nd, Georgia 18th.

Now here is a huge difference in the defense from last year

Rushing defense: Ohio St is ranked 11th giving up 67.5 YPG, Alabama 22nd, TTUN tied for 47th, Georgia is 24th.

Total defense which includes total yards per game: Ohio St 23rd, Georgia 8th, TTUN 13th, Alabama 17th.

Scoring defense: Ohio St Tied for 20th at 11 ppg, Georgia is 1st at 1.5 ppg, TTUN tied for 11th 8.5 ppg, Alabama 15th 9.5 ppg.

Looking at these stats, and comparing who we have played compared to these teams, I am super confident in the direction of the defense. Yes we have a better run defense then almighty Georgia, and TTUN playing the dog poop schedule they have played is very average in run defense (which means against teams who can run the ball they will struggle). Also our third down defense is better then both TTUN and Georgia.

I know its only 2 weeks into the season, but considering how awful our defense was last year, I would say the proof is there that Kerry Coombs, Matt Barnes and Al Washington should all be put in jail for stealing money from Ohio St and criminally under developing the players
