Records of the former Ohio State football players implicated in the “Tattoogate” scandal will not be restored in the aftermath of changes to the NCAA’s name, image and likeness policies.
The association released a statement on Wednesday saying that it will not revisit the case, upholding its decision from a decade ago.
“The rules that govern fair play are voted on, agreed to and expected to be upheld by all NCAA member schools,” it read. “Previous penalties, including those that are several years old, will not be re-evaluated or reconsidered based on the recent changes to NIL rules.”
