Like all of you, I was yelling at my tv, in disbelief that we somehow were not ready for the Heisman winner, and that Borland was on the field in a 4-4.
However, I am legitimately struggling to understand what Coombs should have done differently (specifically, in scheme and players). For people better at the X's and O's than me, what would your solution have been?
Honestly, we had zero depth at DB, Banks and Wade clearly couldn't run with Bama's top 2 guys, we only have one serviceable safety, and we weren't going to generate a pass rush from the front 4. It feels to me - this morning - more like a personnel issue than a scheme issue. What am I missing?
