-a person or thing that is supposed to bring good luck or that is used to symbolize a particular event or organization.

As we all know, our beloved Brutus has not been allowed on the sidelines.  It hasn't been a normal year for anyone in CFB, and for our team in particular.  Its been a tough road. Our team has been counted out, forgotten about, and disrespected.  Many of our players are looking at the last year of football (at the collegiate and some, ANY level) and even that was almost taken away from them.

There have been leaders all over the sideline this year. A lot of players have stepped up when we needed them to, while we also began the season with proven leaders on both sides of the "Field".  However, one player has emerged in particular to exemplify not just what the Brotherhood represents in general, but how it is particularly affected this year.

Nobody was looking at losing more than Trey Sermon. Dude came in to chase one more year of eligibility in a high profile team so that he may achieve his dream of playing pro. He was not going to be able to still make it there with an "opt out".  He came to fill a void caused by Teagues injury, meanwhile a starting position opened back up after he left Oklahoma. Big ten cancellation was looking at taking his last season away from him, and then the late start gave Teague time to take his starting spot back.

But Trey kept grinding. He was the first this year to lose his black stripe and be inducted into the brotherhood in 2020.  He was patient and kept grinding until his turn came. Counted out and forgotten by many, but he finally got his chance.  And we all know what he did with it.

Trey Represents all the values of the Brotherhood that we want.  But he is the most "2020 Buckeye" as anyone and he is this team's spirit animal.  I love you Brutus, but Trey is all we need this season.
