They played 9 games overall during the regular season and went 8-0-1.
From my perspective, there’s not a hell of a lot of difference between 5-0 and 6-0 (especially given the extraordinary circumstances this year) where the Buckeyes didn’t even have the opportunity to play three additional, non-conference games as was the case in ‘61.
While there might have been a decent reason for coming up with the 6-game benchmark at the start of this truncated season, that standard makes absolutely no sense now (especially given the fact that Ohio State would have automatically earned a berth in the B1G title game if it had played—and lost—to TTUN this weekend).

I say, case closed, ADs should overwhelmingly vote to have Ohio State play in B1G title game with 5-0 record.
