I assume the BIG athletic directors will meet today to decide whether to reduce the required number of games from 5 to 6 in order to play in the BIG championship game. Obviously, we all want that. For the start of the season, my understanding was that an unanimous vote was required. If that is true again, I can't imagine it will change. I don't know the rules, but let's assume only a majority vote is required, so 8 votes to pass. Who votes to reduce it to 5 games so that OSU can get in?
Obviously Gene Smith. Barry Alvarez has said he'd do it. Even Michigan's AD sounds to be in favor (of course, he also said they would play in The Game). I can see IU voting against it. I can also see Northwestern voting against it (who do you think they want to play - IU without Penix or us?!).
How do you see this shaking out? Who votes with or against "us"?
