B1G Covid Protocol: 21 Game Ban. It always puzzled me how Mertz played in week 1 AND week 4. It turns out, it was because week 1 was a Friday for them. Wow...

Saturday November 14th: Graham Mertz beats Michigan
How could he play week 4 if he popped after week 1?
Multiple reports indicate Mertz tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday Oct. 24 and therefore would be done with his 21-day recovery protocol on Friday Nov. 13. The protocol states players can’t play in a game for up to 21 days. However after passing cardiology exams, player may begin physical activities as soon as 15 days after testing positive. The rules will allow Mertz to participate in some of Wisconsin’s practices this week.
Basically, his 21 days ended the day before Michigan game. Since he popped on a Saturday after a Friday game, the Friday prior to week 4 was his 21 limit. Per B1G stupid rules, one can be active in practice after 14 days, so he had a week to prepare.
Which begs the question, why does the 21 day quarantine require days 15-21 as 'ramp up' days? These are world class athletes? This is a game where players get medical procedures on a Sunday and play on a Saturday (like JTB in the 2017 B1G CG).
This whole season has been a giant improv display... C'mon, get rid of the 15-21 day 'warm up' session.
