The NCAA has an opportunity to help and provide leadership.
NCAA football awards, like the Heisman, are based on the regular season & conference championship games.
I think that the NCAA should say it's going to wait until ALL conferences play their season.
ALSO - I believe that the NCAA should plan for a Winter/Spring National Champion and declare the winner of the Fall playoff (occurs in January)and then the Winter playoff (top 4 teams from B1G/PAC 12) "Co-Champions." We've had that before in history - for example, TTUN & Nebraska shared the NC in the 97/98 season.
Is it PERFECT? NO. But it gives Justin Fields a real shot at the Heisman, which he deserves. And it gives our Buckeyes (and all Winter-ball teams) something to play for. In other words, it's MORE FAIR for the athletes.
CFB loves debates, it's part of the fun (and ratings). Let's say Clemson wins the NC in January and OSU wins the NC in March. Let the endless debate about "who would've won if they met" ensure. Both teams would have a legit claim. Both would deserve to make the claim.
