Trivia Time: Week 1

Welcome to Trivia Time, the community quiz that will unequivocally prove how smart the community is...or not. We believe that Eleven Warriors is home to the most knowledgeable Buckeye fans on the planet. It is now time for you to prove it.

Below, you will find 10 questions. The answer with the most votes for each question will be the "community answer". The answers and community grade will be revealed at the bottom of next week's Trivia Time.

Need something to distract you as the time slowly ticks down to Ohio State's season opening game against Florida Atlantic? You've come to the right spot. Today's questions are based on the Buckeyes' season openers and random facts about FAU.

In between the questions, you might find some interesting facts and tidbits about Ohio State and the Owls. You should find that the questions increase in difficulty. Then again, maybe not.

Two simple rules: Please use your brain (not a search engine) and only play once.

The Last Time  

Ohio State played on August 31 was 2017. The team traveled to Indiana on a Thursday night and defeated the Hoosiers, 49-21.  The last time the Buckeyes started the season with a shutout was 2011. They defeated Akron, 42-0. The last time Ohio State's first game was against a Conference USA opponent was 2010. Marshall was the opponent and the Buckeyes won, 45-7. The last time Ohio State beat Florida Atlantic was...never, this is their first meeting.

On The Horizon  

Ryan Day will start the season as Ohio State's 25th head coach in program history. This will be the sixth time the Buckeyes have played an opponent from Conference USA. Ohio State is undefeated (5–0) against C-USA. We are a day away from Ohio Stadium's 98th season as home to the Buckeyes.

Get To Know Florida Atlantic 

The university was established in 1964 with 867 students. The Owls were 5–7 in 2018. The football team lost to Charlotte, 27-24 to end the season. The Owls did not qualify for a bowl game. FAU was the first public University in southeast Florida. The campus was built on a 1940s era Army airfield. Today, Florida Atlantic has 24,686 undergraduate and 4,666 graduate students. U.S. News & World Report ranks the school as a second-tier university.

Difficulty: 4th and 15

 

 

Cliff Claven's Little Know Facts

Ohio State's quarterbacks have thrown 90 touchdown passes over the last two seasons...best in the country.

The Buckeyes start the 2019 season with three straight noon kickoffs.

Ohio State has won 31 consecutive games that have started at noon.

The program has won at least 10 games in a season for seven consecutive years.

K.J. Hill has caught a pass in 34 straight games.

J.K. Dobbins (2,456 yards) enters the season 8th on Ohio State's career rushing list.

Joran Fuller earned Academic All-American honors last year, the 30th Buckeye to do so.

Mike Vrabel is the on Ohio State player to have multiple years of 10 or more sacks. Chase Young had 10.5 sacks last year...
