Former Ohio State defensive tackle Michael Bennett was among the players who were looking to make a strong first impression when the Atlanta Falcons opened their training camp on Monday, as he was set to compete for a spot on the Falcons' 53-man roster this summer.
Unfortunately for Bennett, he's already sidelined before the Falcons even made it through their first practice.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Bennett suffered a broken ankle during the Falcons' opening practice on Monday and is out indefinitely.
#Falcons DL Michael Bennett, who went down in practice today, suffered a broken ankle and is out indefinitely, sources say. First day of work and already a major injury.

A sixth-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, Bennett appeared in two games for the Atlanta Falcons last season after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team that drafted him. Since appearing in 13 games for the Jaguars as a rookie in 2015, Bennett has played in just three NFL regular-season games over the past three years.
