Sports Illustrated did an article where they asked 26 NFL executives which players would have been capable of going pro after just one year of college. 2 of them insisted nobody could do it but the others listed some elite players and a lot of former Buckeye players are mentioned. Of course Maurice Clarett and his infamous 2003 lawsuit against the NFL are discussed, but executives also name several other Buckeyes they think could have made the jump after one year including Joey Bosa, Orlando Pace, Chris Spielman, and Andy Katzenmoyer.

Seems unlikely that the NFL will ever change their rules. As one GM says in the article only 1 out of 1000 guys is physically and mentally capable of making the jump so young. But it does make for an interesting off season read.
