Let's talk about how Urban has improved this team from either the beginning of the season or some of the big issues from last year.

It's mainly 2 things for me.. Special teams from last season and the run game since the bye week.

1.) Special teams was no doubt a huge problem for us and a massive thorn in our side last season. It nearly cost us the PSU game with a kickoff returned for a TD then another returned to our 40. Since then, OSU has turned ST into a strength, sure FG unit isn't great but we've mastered the most important aspect of ST which is flipping field position and pinning people back. Our coverage has improved greatly and the return game might show some life with McCall (just don't fumble!).

2.) The run game was pretty bad up until the bye week, OL felt sluggish, RBs looked hesitant, the play calling seemed like too much of a gamble (east/west runs), the QB wasn't making the best reads on the handoffs and we weren't use to having a pro style QB. Since then we mostly ditched the RPO, thrown in some power runs, used TEs as lead blockers and used some fake jet sweeps to seal up the back end. Our run game has actually been pretty damn good the past 3 weeks. Maryland and MSU are both above average run defenses (MSU is a very good run defense) and we ran the ball quite well on them on the road. The run game is by far the best it's looked all season.
