Gene Smith tweeted what is apparently a response to the rumors that Ryan Day is on the verge of being named head coach in-waiting.

We obviously are appreciative of Coach Days great work, and hope he continues to be one of our offensive coordinators for a long time, but we are more than confident Coach Meyer will be our head coach for quite some time.

Very interesting that he would comment publicly on this. I find it very reassuring that he went out of his way to say Coach Meyer will be here for "quite some time."
