From Bill Landis at Cleveland.com:
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Rocky Boiman was in Boston on a Sunday night when his phone rang, the name on the screen was a familiar one.
"Got any advice for a first-time player?" the voice on the other end said.
Sam Hubbard sounded nervous.
It was the night before Ohio State's season opener against Virgina Tech. Hubbard was nervous in the sense that he wasn't completely sure what to expect in his first college game, on national TV, on the road in front of one of the loudest crowds in the country.
So he called a guy who had become a trusted mentor, and who had been there before. Boiman, like Hubbard, was a high school football player from Cincinnati before going on to Notre Dame -- where he was recruited by a young assistant coach named Urban Meyer.
