The first OSU football game I went to with my Dad, except for a few Spring Games. I was going through some old pictures, this weekend, and came across a 10 page newspaper flyer that they used to hand out to fans on your way into the Horseshoe. The flyer was an advertisement, but also had the roster/starting lineups for the teams playing in the game. This is almost 29 years ago, the Cris Carter and Chris Spielman days.....it's amazing to see the size of the OL and DL back in those days.
OSU's Starting OL was RT (6-7, 278) RG (6-5, 262) C (6-5, 292) LG (6-4, 248) LT (6-5, 274).... Not a player over 292lbs
OSU's DL: Nose Guard (6-2, 244) RT (6-3,266) LT (6-4, 259) not a player over 266lbs
Utah's starting OL: RT(6-4, 253) RG (6-1, 263) C (6-0, 246) LG(6-3, 273) LT(6-7, 278) not a player over 278 lbs and the TE was 6-4, 210
DL: NG (6-3, 245), RT (6-3, 231) LT (6-4, 254)
Bigger, faster, stronger
Found the sizes compared to today's players quite amazing.
