For the last 5 years, we as Buckeye fans have yearned for the days of the "Silver Bullets." Each year as recruiting class after recruiting class is assembled and signed, we are promised that this will be the year that the Bullets return. We get hyped during the Spring Practice, we get fooled by the mirage that is the Spring Game, we overanalyze recruits we've never seen play a down and wish that returnees that didn't play will somehow become All-B1G performers. For the most part they haven't, there has been one constant, Luke Fickell. He's a Buckeye through and through and that's great, but at some point competence at one's job has to matter.  From his 6-7 tenure as HC to this years run through the B1G(137 yrds for Langford, 154 yrds for Cobb, 228 yrds for Coleman and 75 yrds for Johnson, who had only 12 carries all season)Fickell has proven that he isn't up to the task. The offense under Tom Herman has gotten better every year and at this point is the envy of the B1G producing the two-time Offensive POY, the O-Line has gotten better, after losing 4 Starters, 3 of which are starting in the NFL, this group has become exponentially better. What about the Defense? The addition of Chris Ash has helped, we didn't get torched in the throw game this year, yet. DJ Durkin is a proven builder of Championship Defenses and he is available, right now!! Let's not make the same mistake twice. At least make a phone call!! In the long run this could be the recruit that brings us that elusive National Championship.
