Conventional wisdom is that if you win 20 playing in a major conference you make the tournament. Of the 9 remaining games, I think the likeliest scenarios to make the tournament are:

2 must win games - USC, @ Penn State 

Equalish competition we can/should pick up 2-3 wins - Wisconsin, @Iowa, Indiana

Games we’re underdogs or heavy underdogs - scUM, Virginia (neutral court), @MSU, Purdue.

Even though we’re not supposed to win the above 4 an upset like that happens AT LEAST a couple times every week and we’re due for a win like this. AND we have a little wiggle room still. We should have at least one very winnable game in the first round of the B1G tournament.

Our team hasn’t given me enough confidence that I feel secure we’re making it in. However they have shown me plenty that they’re capable of this. Not being a betting man, gun to my head if I had to lay odds for Vegas I’m giving our boys a 60% chance of making the tournament.

Let’s get it on record. What are your predictions on the last 9?

I’m predicting we get our wins against USC and PSU. Wins three and four on home court against Wisconsin and Indiana. Then we catch Virginia off guard and steal one. After that, I’m going all the way out on a limb and predicting 2 B1G tournament wins and comfortably walking into the NCAA Tournament with a 22-12 record. Here’s wishing!
