I 100% understand from a competitive standpoint and from a rivalry hatred standpoint that we don't want others to have nice things, especially the cheaters. That said, we do directly benefit financially when other Big Ten teams do well in the CFP and the NCAA Basketball tournaments.
From both tournaments the Big Ten garnered $69.4 million dollars in both tournaments with $63 million coming from the men's side per a report on ESPN.

The SEC got around $56 million as the next highest, Big 12 $42.9 million, ACC $34.2 million. We also saw big payouts in the CFP with more Big Ten teams in and going deeper in the playoffs. Because of the sharing structure of the conference it means even with a first round exit or not even making it we still get $$$. If they are going to hand out money I would rather the Big Ten get it instead of other conferences and especially like it when Notre Dame is shut out from the CFP since they don't have to share with anybody which is complete bullshit.
