Yesterday NCAA released some changes for this coming football season. One being how targeting calls are being penalized, also OPI will now be 10 yards instead of 15 yards.
Its a one year trial rule
- It seems current penalties still apply(15 yards, player disqualified for the rest of the current game)
- First disqualification for targeting, player can participate in the next game regardless of half the targeting was committed
- Second disqualification the player must sit the first half of the next game
- Third disqualification the player must miss the entire next game
