Beck seems to have sparked the interest of people who don't really pay much attention to college football.  With that interest generally comes "outrage".

Of course, all that people heard was a snippet about him not attending "class" since he graduated from UGA "2 years ago".

Beck takes on-line classes for a master's program he is enrolled in at Miami.  He doesn't physically walk across campus and attend class with the student body, but that isn't what the internet and the general public heard. They have interpreted his comments to mean that he just studies football and isn't a student AT ALL.

I'm sure this new outrage will force someone to clarify his comments, or maybe not, will be interesting to see if it is addressed during the NCG this evening.
