I thought the game in Norman was "meh football" and I expect IU to handle Bama in Pasadena.

John Mateer is a really good athlete, but he is not a really good QB.  His pick-6 was horrific and it crushed his team's chances.  His throwing mechanics are bad, and are the reason he only completes 63% of his passes.  His TD% on passes this season was an atrocious 3.5%.  Sayin's was 8.7%, Mendoza's 10.4% for comparison.

OU reminded me of watching Iowa.  Sure Iowa can run the ball and OU cannot, but you get the gist of my point, right?  No offense (both Iowa and OU avg 5.2-ish yards per play), good to great defense. They have to play field position and get turnovers to beat talented teams.

Good riddance Sooners, go away.

Ever since the initial discussions of an expanded college football playoff were floated around, years ago, I have always believed that home-field advantage had to be a part of the equation.  Sadly, the CFP committee totally botched this part of the playoffs IMHO.

What is the point of earning the #1 seed and not getting to have home-field advantage in the playoffs?!?!?!?!?  If we must have some connection with the likes of the Peach, Fiesta and Cotton Bowls in this playoff, let them host first round games. Throw in the Holiday Bowl to make a 4th.

Alabama should have to travel to Bloomington, and Miami to Columbus for the next round of games.  Same for Oregon and Ole Miss.  Quarterfinal games should be on campuses to reward the top 4 seeds with a home game.  Semis and Finals can rotate through Rose, Orange, Sugar Bowls.  Those are the big dogs.  The rest of the bowls can take a back seat.
