Looks like Whittingham will coach his last game for Utah in their upcoming bowl game against Nebraska. Seems like he’s stepping down in order to step up, in my opinion. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him coaching an SEC or B1G team this time next year (edit - I meant for 2027). Not the kind of guy to search for a job while still employed, and not the kind of guy to jump ship mid-season or before a bowl game on the culture he’s maintained at that university. As we saw this year, there will be plenty of opportunities again next year.
