The NCAA has lost in court over players being able to profit from use of their name, image, and likeness. The NCAA has agreed by court settlement to allow colleges to share revenue with their athletes. The NCAA's ability to regulate eligibility and transfers is under legal assault. Plus we all know the NCAA is gutless in enforcing rules governing fair play.

So now in a local South Carolina court, the NCAA has been found financially liable for damages for failing to adequately warn a former SC State football player of the dangers of concussions.   The award was $18 million and is sure to be appealed, but if upheld, would open the flood gate of litigation for the NCAA's role in player injuries. Even a players who suited up from 1977 to 1980 as in the case.

Thus the question becomes can the NCAA survive all of it's challenges, and if not what type of governing body for college sports will emerge.
