Great Things for CFB Happened So Far This Weekend

Several things, that I feel are good for my favorite sport, have happened so far this weekend.

1. Biased opinion, but having a defending champion look like a defending champion in Week 1 is a good thing for CFB. With so much change happening in the sport recently it’s good to show that a program can still maintain excellence from year to year

2. The prohibitive Heisman front-runner is not going to run away with the award. It’s good to have an open conversation about the sport’s highest profile individual award for the entirety of the season vs. it being decided early on by the talking heads.

3. Bama has been supplanted as the most important program in the country. Their run was amazingly long and impressive, but it’s definitely over for the time being. It is time for others to get some of the attention that Bama swallowed up for so long.

4. Dabo continues to disappoint. He’s a clown and that needs to be repeatedly demonstrated. Also, Klubnick’s Heisman odds took a major hit, making that race more interesting and wide open

5. Nico Iamaleava vs. Joey Aguilar.
College football’s first hold out looked like a complete bust at his new school and the kid who UCLA cast aside thrived. I will root for Tennessee to have a good season and UCLA to go winless because of how this situation was handled.

Feel free to add what you’ve liked about CFB so far this weekend.
