Brohio and 22buck discuss Mike Hart communicating with the NCAA and reiterate once again that he is not the whistleblower that delivered everything to the NCAA. (There's a lot of back and forth so I won't copy the whole thing here).
PremierDrum shares a tweet regarding UM's strategy:
Boob Salsa is hyper-focusing on the coming sanction for only one change - Moore's Level II for deleting evidence - so they can play the "completely shellshocked, nobody at UM saw this coming" card when the full list of punishments is released.
Also, a very good theory as to why UM rolled the dice of pushing the case all the way to a COI hearing:
The only reason to fight the COI in this day is to limit postseason ban by making the case that the Level 1 is Standard or the school showed Exemplary Cooperation.
They do not want this to be Level 1 aggravation. The core penalty for that is 1-3 years postseason ban

Based on the Ross Dellenger article on UMs NOA response, it appears the NCAA came with a laundry list of aggravating factors and a short list of mitigating.
Right once UM saw that, they knew they had to go to COI, because it is worth the gamble to see if the COI felt different

Btw there is a lot more to the conversation so I recommend clicking through to X to read the whole thing. But for those who would prefer to avoid Twitter or don't have it, the tl;dr is that this user suspects they dragged it all the way to a COI because they were already facing a Level 1 - Aggravated version of Failure to Monitor which carries a postseason ban. They didn't stand to lose much versus settling (just time) so they took their chances on whether the COI might be more lenient. A comparison to Tennessee's success getting the COI to take their postseason ban off the table is shaky at best if TCUN's response was as uncooperative as we believe compared to Tennessee's.
PremierDrum's source reports on what UM expects:
A bit of actual news to wrap-up this thread.
Boob Salsa's song-and-dance again today about Moore's looming "2 or 4 game suspension" as the crux of their sanctions prompted me to check-in with a few folks who have been silent since early June.
A UM-adjacent source, who helped us break both the draft and formal NOA delivery stories, had a bit to say.
Internally, this source says that UM is preparing for-
- "Record-correcting" rear facing sanctions
- A 2-year postseason ban
- Recruiting restrictions
- A 6 to as many as 12 game suspension and show-cause penalty for Moore
- Fines and other administrative penalties (trainings, enhanced monitoring, etc).
Someone over at The Fort should get Chris to directly answer if his "sources" say that Moore's suspension is for the totality of their violations, or just for his singular Level 2?
I'll grab my popcorn.
