Yes, the SEC has dominated college baseball for a while now, but it's gotten out of hand with the assignments of regional host sites for the NCAA tournament.

Being a host means you get to play the 4-seed in your first game.  A big advantage. 1 seeds have made up 75% of the teams to make the College World Series in the past 25 years (with current format for baseball tourney).  Being the 1-seed means you will get to play an automatic qualifier on a lot of occasions.  Teams that often got hot at their conference tourney and frequently have records under .500 for their season.

Being the host means you get to have your home fans dominate the attendance and of course have all the comforts of home. Being the host makes the rich, richer as the host gets revenue from the NCAA for ticket sales (some is shared with the conference and some with the other teams participating at the regional site).

This year, of the 16 regional hosts, 8 of them are SEC schools.  That is just too many.  Finishing 8th place in your conference should NOT be rewarded with hosting a regional.  A 16-14 conference record (I don't care what conference you play in) is NOT worthy of hosting a regional, yet 2 of those happened this season with Tennessee and Ole Miss.

The Big XII was the 3rd highest RPI conference this season and didn't earn a single host site.

The breakdown of regional hosts this season goes 8 SEC, 3 ACC, 2 B1G, 2 Sun Belt, 1 Indy.

Be better baseball committee.  Spread the joy of the NCAA baseball tourney a little wider, with a little more thought and effort put into the regional site selections.
