In light of the Todd gurley story I remembered that I wrote a 6 point NCAA reform a while back so here it is
1. Trust fund for students athletes. fund is increased for said athlete based on his/her performance on and off the field. Example if said athlete wins Heisman tbd amount will be put into the trust fund likewise if said athlete finishes with a tbd GPA, tbd amount, would put into the trust fund. conference championships, national championships and jersey sales would also be entered into the fund.
2. If said athlete stays all four years and graduates with a degree his/her fund would be increased by tbd%. This is to in courage the athlete to care about his/her education.
3. The athlete will receive a percent of his/her total jersey sales.
4. If the athlete leaves early he/she will only receive the money that is in his/her trust fund at the time of his/her departure.
5. Athlete would be able to access fund before his/her departure only in extreme or dyer needs i.e. need of food, rent , or immediate family needs, Would have to be approved by NCAA or school representative.
6. During athletic events said Athlete would have to be cleared by NCAA/independent doctor before being allowed to return to the event.
So do you guys think this would work ?
