I'm a big of of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, obviously...and learned they left the platform over a disagreement with Spotify's ownership.  I was not aware that after they left some AI Generated music was created under the band "King Lizard" and put into their profile, with songs sounding very similar to King Gizzard's catalog.

Spotify claims it was a mistake and they take copyright laws seriously, but their platform isn't open, like YouTube, so  they had to know it was happening and still allowed it to.

My family hates me right now for getting rid of spotify and sticking with YouTube music going forward, but they'll get over it.  And to be fair, YouTube is better since you can listen to all the non-licensed materials through the player, like live concerts and bootlegs.  Spotify doesn't do this.  The two services are not comparable imo.  Anyway...

The only way to stop businesses from unethical business practices is thru the wallet.
