What’s up guys!? Checking back in now that we’ve been on hiatus and I’m back slaving away (and donating large portions of my checks back to the nonprofit to help us get back and stay back on the road).
I wanted to post here and announce our first big fundraiser of the break.
As some of you may remember in ‘21 I went to Arizona and participated in my first ultramarathon, The Fat Ox 48 Hour Endurance Run. I utilized the run to raise money for Dayton Children’s Hospital for gifts for Christmas toys for kids stuck there during the holidays. I was able to raise a shade over $2,200.
We’re doing this again, with the hopes of doing it to raise money for both Children’s and Hall Across the Country. Our goal is $5,000 with $2,500 going to each destination. However if we should fall short, up to $2,500 it’ll all go to children’s. Anything over that up to 5k will be $2,500 to Children’s, and the rest to us.
This is a philosophy we’re going to attempt to lean into when we resume, finding (hopefully) other mental health nonprofits to collaborate with each month and do “per mile” sponsorships and donations each month (on top of folks who are currently recurring donors or one time donors).
If you guys feel so inclined post here or email us hallacrossthecountry@gmail.com with your pledge. And as always if you know of any businesses you think would be willing to make a pledge or donation send them my way as well.
Below is the link where the donations will go at the completion of the race. There will be a live tracker for miles, and I’ll be doing updates as I limp through. Four years ago I slogged to 52.2 miles over two days. Now with better knowledge of shoes and foot/blister care, Im going all-in for 100 miles.
Much Love Guys!
