If you'll remember, I asked about Spain last year. But I ended up going to Chile, which was great BTW. 

I have 3 weeks for vacation in October 2023, and it will be Spain, France, or Portugal this time. It'll be a solo outing, and I'm most interested in going on some good day hikes and seeing some nice natural features. I'll obviously spend some time in cities and towns too, for R&R, stocking up, and doing a little sight-seeing (e.g., churches, museums, town squares).

Given that very vague description of what I want to do, do you have a recommendation out of these three countries? Please note that I speak very advanced Spanish and intermediate French, so it would be much easier for me to communicate with people in Spain and France.
