Wondering if anyone else gets as annoyed by this stuff as I do:
1. Talking about "a" specific athlete but referring to them as a type of athlete. "If I were staring a team today, it would be a tough choice at QB between a Russell Wilson or a Cam Newton." ESPN radio especially guilty of this.
2. Describing a team as a singular unit. "Ohio State comes off of two big offensive performances, but if it wants to beat Oklahoma, it's going to have to be consistent on the ground." Almost all articles refer to teams as "it" instead of "they" which I just don't understand.
3. Referring to injuries as "a knee" or "an elbow". "This guy's got a knee." Enough said on this one.
any others?
