So, for the golfers out there:
1. Do you practice?
2. What are your favorite/most productive drills other than just crushing balls on the range?
I play a lot of golf and my game has been stagnant for as long as I can remember in the neighborhood of a 20HCP. Occasionally, it gets a little better or a little worse but always around 20. I've never really practiced enough (basically never at all other than maybe a small bucket on the range before teeing off) but have made the commitment to do so this year along with a few of my buddies/league-mates as we have an awesome practice facility near us (that also sells beer) and besides the practice it is just awesome to spend the time with my friends whom are all as serious about playing as I am.
I leak shots on and around the green. If I had to put a number on it I'd have to say anywhere between 7 and 14 shots depending on the day. If it's only 5, I probably had a good day. If it's 10, not so much.
An example: Yesterday on a semi long but reachable par 5 I put an awful swing on a driver and actually went under the ball, obliterated the tee and left the ball sitting on the tee box (this is an extreme abnormality for me as I usually drive the ball very well). Anyway, 3i, 3i, 8i later I'm on the fringe in 4 and left with about 15 ft of downhill to the hole. If I get it in in two, I steal a bogey and with my HCP I'll take bogies all freaking day long. Instead, I yipped an 8i bump shot leaving a slimy downhill putt which went by the hole and led to a three-putt 8...Made especially asinine by the fact we play gimmies within the putter so I had about a 6' in diameter target for which to shoot. Good times.
So, do the golfers on 11W practice at all? Any good drills you like to do? Specifically, any putting/chipping/pitching drills?
